Owned by the same family as two separate dwellings for many years and after several internal alterations and repairs, very little of what remained in the house was original. A crucial part of the works was the amalgamation of the two separate dwellings back to a single family home.
The design of the original house is part of the Classical tradition, but important elements such as main entrance façade lacked the correct hierarchy. Our brief required us to make the entrance more welcoming and attractive with a sense of arrival.
The most important part of our work was the reinstatement of the lost features both internally and externally; fully replicating the ones we could identify and, where this cannot be ascertained re-instating new elements that would have been appropriate for a building of the period and style.
Together with the discreet renewal of all services we were able to create a beautiful Family home that is compatible with modern living.
